How To Create A Google Brand Account
While we are talking about non-businesses Brand accounts can certainly be used for businesses, but it is certainly a special kind of account. Brand account focus heavily on Google+ and Youtube. So, consider Google Photos and Google My Business. As you add on these different Google tools to your brand account they will become cohesive. How this type of account differs from other types of accounts is that the account can have multiple managers. These managers can jointly manage and own it without needed multiple usernames and passwords. You can also have multiple brands in your brand accounts under your brand accounts page.
Here is how you start your Brand Account:
Go to Google+
- Bottom left click Brands
- Create Google+ Page
- Create Brand Account
- Select Enable, under Enable Google+ for your brand.

Your Foundation Is Google+
The foundation page/tool for the Google Brand Account is Google+. If you’re new to Google+, in nutshell, it is another social networking site, like Facebook. As you are creating your Google+ page you will be asked what category this page will be intended for. Options included: Local Business, Brand, Organization, Arts or Other. This will guide the rest of the set-up process differing in subcategories of information you will have to provide.
When you are determining your audience you can group them by customers, following, team members, VIPs. This helps internally organize specific to your business. Make sure you are not using your personal page act as your brand page on Google+
Google’s Collections & Communities
Once you are there you can start participating in creating posts and +1 content. More importantly you will become part of collections and communities. That is where you can find those whom you align with and contribute to areas that are best for your brand.
Collections are the topics or categories you choose to follow without having to follow everything with that person or group. More importantly, you manage what exist in the Collection, making it a great place for organizing your interest and posts.
A Community interacts with a group or collective. Multiple members can post in different categories with content watched by moderators. The intent for these groups is for a back and fourth of sharing and listing. You also can learn a lot about target audiences this way if you are creating ads and analytics.
